NOVICE GALAS - A great start to the New Year!

Congratulations to all swimmers who completed the Novice Galas held at Amersham pool on 7th January' 2017.

Chalfont Otters Club came 3rd which was excellent and all swimmers did very well.

Some were representing the club for the first time. Well done to Alicia Robb who we named "swimmer of the night" for her brilliant team spirit throughout the gala!

A massive thank you to our volunteer helpers named below, without them this gala would not have been possible.

Thank you.

• Sandra Clark

• Sam Clark

• Carys Clark

• Emily Ratcliff

• Joe Jackson

• Rik Allen

Lastly, thank you to all parents for your support. It was great to see so much support for Otters in the stands. The swimmers loved having you there.

Otters performed brilliantly at this friendly team gala against local rival clubs, including Maidenhead and Amersham.

For many of the team members, this was one of their first team gala experiences and many swam in races that they wouldn''t normally get the chance to compete in.

Throughout the evening our young Otters swam brilliantly, many achieving PBs.

At the halfway mark, Otters were placed 2nd behind rivals Maidenhead, with fellow County club Bracknell in third position. However a few vital points were lost in the 2nd half of the gala, resulting in Otters finishing in 3rd position, behind Maidenhead and Bracknell; a respectable result in such a tightly swum gala.

Well done to all those swimmers who took part!

Maidenhead -170
Bracknell - 151
Otters - 144
Bicester- 111
Amersham - 93

1st October 2011
Amersham, Bicester, Bracknell, Hillingdon, High Wycombe and Chalfont Otters took part last night in an exciting and ultimately successful gala. Otters finished second after a stunning win in the final squadron race in the most noise you can imagine.

Some fabulous swims from Faye Zhao, Emilie Ratcliff, Amanda Newman, Lizzie Baldwin and Sam Clark amongst many others led the Otters and their team mates to some fantastic times and fine results.

Coach Jonny Patten said "I am very proud of all the Otters swimmers tonight, they performed superbly and I was most impressed by their desire to listen in training and to put it into practice in the races. It was a privilege to be their coach tonight."

30th October 2010

Chalfont Otters ran out winners at last night''s novice gala at Amersham. Otters young team scored 168 points, narrowly beating Thame on 164, and Whitney, Amersham and Henley on 118, 112 and 111 points respectively. Chesham finished last on 92 points. Of 24 individual swims, 14 were personal bests, some by a wide margin.

Ian Arnott, Head Coach commented, "It''s great to see our younger Otters winning in the pool, they''ll gain confidence from this and will keep improving. They put in a tremendous effort tonight".

8th May 2010

On Saturday the Chalfont team swam very well to come 2nd out of 6 teams at the Amersham Novice Gala. This was an excellent performance from the team as for many of the swimmers this was their 1st competitive gala for the club.

It was a strong performance across the whole team with 8 first places achieved and swimmers in 20 of the 24 individual events recording a personal best time, with Felicity Gates showing the biggest improvement knocking 7 seconds off her 25m butterfly time.

Congratulations to all the swimmers.
